We delivered user-focused testing services for a selection of FNZ’s wealth management clients.

Case study background

FNZ is an international financial services organisation that provides regulated end-to-end investment management technology platforms to major financial institutions and wealth management companies, helping them to create and maintain strategic financial investment solutions and propositions.

We worked directly with FNZ’s clients to deliver acceptance testing services on enhancements to their Wrap, Elevate and Fundzone platforms – primarily focused on assuring the administration, reporting and integration functionalities of these solutions.

Key challenges

‘Follow the sun’ test delivery teams
We needed to keep pace with continuous system testing and deployments into UAT happening across EMEA and APAC time zones each day – known as the ‘follow the sun’ model – which meant taking a fast-paced and nimble approach.

A complex environment with multiple client users
The enhancements being delivered impacted several key clients simultaneously – our team delivered technical test scenario workshops with these clients (and their third-party suppliers) and subsequently guided them through user acceptance test phases.

Solution approach and outcome

A direct approach, getting into the detail

Our team comfortably rolled their sleeves up to write and execute UAT test scripts with and on behalf of FNZ’s clients, translating what the ‘tech speak’ means for their business along the way. We were also an instrumental part in mentoring and guiding new staff hired by FNZ into their internal UAT testing capability in the UK, helping to bolster the team’s knowledgebase and support their long-term growth.

Stakeholder satisfaction

With numerous project stakeholders involved, we recognised that fostering a positive and collaborative relationship with business representatives, client end users (including Aberdeen Investments, Standard Life, and Virgin Money), and their third-party vendor partners was essential to a successful delivery – especially within a structure of distributed teams operating in a highly regulated industry.
